Bath Salts with Essential Oils

jessica | April 6, 2016

Who doesn’t love to soak in a hot bath with bath salts?! I know I do! Loving this new bath salt with added essential oils!

What You Will Need:

  • 1 Cup Epsom Salt
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Baking Soda
  • Your Favorite Essential Oil
  • Powder Food Coloring if you want it colored (optional)

Place epsom salt and baking soda in a dish and stir well.

Then, add your essential oil to your desired smell and stir.

Add powder food coloring if you choose, I didn’t use any.

I then put it into a cut mason jar and added a cute purple fabric to represent “lavender” since I didn’t use and coloring in the mix. This would make for a great Mother’s Day gift, Teacher Gift, or a gift just for you!

Hey Jes! Wanted to ask you if you are familiar with essential oils? In a non synthetic 15ml bottle of lavender oil it takes 150lbs of lavender to make the oil! Pretty awesome right! A lot of essential oils out there are not 100% pure or approved by the FDA so for ingestion they aren’t recommend. However doterra essential oils are! Yay! So if you have any questions or would like to learn more about essential oils shoot me a message! It has been a game changer in my family!

This sounds amazing. Do you use it all in one bath?

I just love your blog Jessica! I have made bath salts but I use Young Living essential oils which are pure oils grown and harvested from their own fields to make sure they are the purest of oils. If interested go check out youngliving. My name is Anne Cantrell/2100308. Best of luck and hope you all were not affected by the floods. Prayers always to you and family and friends!

Perfect for easy gift ideas, love it! Just one question… Do the oils cause the mixture to get clumpy?

A great idea and so simple.

I made bath fizzies several years back and the coloring the kit came with turned my tub green! It took a loooong time to get rid of the green! Even used bleach, which I have an allergy to 😞

I made up a bunch of this for Christmas a few years ago. Sweet peony sented ,along with those rice bags for hot and cold compresses. Fun project.
